How to start HRT

After months of procrastinating, I have finally been to the doctor and he has given me Evorel 50 patches and utrogestan tablets.
However, I am confused on how to start taking them…

I have had irregular periods for a few years - I had 7mths of no periods until May and have had 2 periods since.
I am currently on day 12 of my current cycle. Do I wait until my next period to start the Evorel (it says start within 5days of period) and then start the utrogestan 2 wks after?

Or do i start the utrogestan first on day 15 of this cycle before the evorel?

What happens if I miss the next period? How do I know when to start?

Any advice gratefully received!!

You could do either!

You can start estrogen at any time. You need to take Utrogestan for 12 days per month, so most women choose a day they can remember easily. For example you could put your patch on today and take the first Utrogestan on 1 August, then again the 1st Sept.

If you want to start it on day 15 of your own cycle, you could, but then you'd need to wait until the same date next month.

Basically, you will reset the HRT cycle and your own periods may align with it.

Thanks so much - I've decided to start straight away!
