Menopause and weight gain

I've never been "skinny" but as I fast approach 50 weight gain particularly around the stomach area is off the charts!

I have started exante but having much success Confused I try and exercise 2 to 3 times a week but quite sedatary other than that.

I'm on HRT. - when trying to conceive DD1 was told I had PCOS and would struggle to conceive any further DC (then got pregnant with twins Shock)

Is there any hope of losing weight Sad

Yes, but it comes off much more slowly post-menopause. I used to be able to lose 2lb a week if I stuck to an eating plan - now it's more like 2lb a month. Lots of ups and downs - losing and gaining the same lb several times. If you're prepared to stick at it, though, you will lose the weight.

I'm losing weight by loosely following the Fast 800 diet recipes. About 2lb a week. Two years since menopause.

OK thanks, just seen lots of posts on Facebook about massive losses on Exante, perhaps I'm expecting too much. Lost 2lbs this week. I'm missing real food, what's your typical day menopausecake?

A typical day would be: breakfast: porridge, lunch: roast pepper and sardine, tea: home made chicken curry without the rice. All quite small portions. It is meant to be 800 calories a day but as I mix up the meals on the weekly planner and still have milky coffee and sugar free sweets I estimate I do about 1000-1250 a day which still works. Just more slowly.
