Hypermobility/ pots perimenopause

I was diagnosed with hypermobility syndrome after my first son, with a lot of issues. I also have hypothyroidism so I think I can go down hill v quickly/ deconditioned. I am slight and benefit from strength exercise (limited to lifting v heavy 3 yr old at the mo.)

After my second I made an effort to keep weight on and do Pilates etc which helped a lot, til periods returned after a year. Since then it's been shit! Pandemic hasn't helped.

I'm now mid 40s and had a lot of issues getting thyroid levels right over the last year or so.

I'm definitely getting increasing peri symptoms and my joints have ached on and off for years, which I'm now thinking is partly peri as well as hypermobility issues, as it's quite random and linked to my cycle.

However I've increasingly noticed issues with dizziness and loosing vision when I stand up quickly, racing heart/ hangover after just 1-2 glasses of Prosecco easily dehydrated etc. I've realised I've started to get more POTs symptoms than I've ever had before. Sometimes racing heart at 3 am. Can't eat a lot past 6/7 pm etc (I'm a great house guest! Hmm)

Did anyone else find pots and hypermobility issues got worse around peri menopause?

I've noticed coconut water really helps which would be potassium etc, and have to drink a lot of water first thing.

Also did hrt help?

Following with interest OP. POTS is such a bugger sometimes.

Have you looked into Ehlers Danlos? It can be vascular. I am hypermobile and my friend has EDS and has issues with hormones triggering mast cell responses etc.
