Utrogestan - how to take

I have been prescribed Utrogestan which I'll take 2 tablets for 12/14 days as still have periods every now and again.

When I talked to the doctor she asked if I wanted to take them orally or vaginally and I automatically said orally because I just thought it would be easier (less mess, could have sex etc). But now I'm wondering if I've made the right decision. Anyone got a view? Also - maybe a stupid question - but can I take the oral ones vaginally?!

Yep you can take the same tablet either orally or vaginally. I prefer orally but many people find taking them vaginally cuts out the stomach irritation that many people have with them (I don’t have any side effects).

Thanks @Bagelsandbrie it seems a bit weird to take them vaginally so I think I'll start orally. Although I've just been reading through some of the posts on this board about utrogestan and now worried about side effects. I've been using the oestrogen gel for 2 weeks and haven't noticed much difference so will be interesting to see if mood etc get worse with the progesterone part of the cycle.
