Progesterone Tablets - Advice Please

Hi. I've been on HRT for about 7 months. I have Evorel 50 HRT patches and take Utrogestan tablets - 2 a night for 12 days of the month.

These are the second type of progesterone tablets I have tried. Whilst taking them I have felt low and anxious. I've just finished them for the month and my mood is a lot happier. In fact I feel so much better I can't sleep. It's like having a huge mood swing.

Can any of you recommend an alternative to the progesterone tablets I am taking? Thanks Daffodil

Hi - I’m still working all this stuff out, I’ve not been on HRT for long and still getting what I take right, however, the utrogestan tablets taken orally didn’t suit me at. I was weepy, spacey, headaches etc. I spoke to my GP who suggested taking them vaginally and prescribed me 200mg for 12 days. This was a lot better than swallowing them and side effects did calm down by about day 8 but definitely not ideal. I’ve now booked in for the Mirena Coil which I’m hoping is going to be much better.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I might ask my GP about taking the tablets that way.
