4 months of very short cycles - go to GP?

Just that really - I’ve always had very regular periods (27 day cycle) and the last four months I’ve had a period after 19 days. I was 40 in November last year. NHS site says to speak to Gp - do I or is this just peri menopause? I don’t know much about it and whether it’s bad to be in it now or if my shorter cycles could be something else. Any advice appreciated!
(Ps no significant lifestyle changes or anything either)

It sounds like peri...mine went down from 28 days to 19. However this was in my early 50's. speak to gp...probably be a phone consultation in the first instance

I’m just wondering what I’d be expecting of them really? It could be symptomatic of so many things couldn’t it - am I young enough for them to want to investigate or would they assume now I’ve eat the 40s it’s peri and leave at that?
