I’m currently on -
Ferrous Fumarate for low ferritin, and as my periods are still heavy I’m staying on one a day.
Evening Primrose oil, I started taking it as I read it was good for PMT.
B vitamins.
Vitamin D.
What should I add ? I keep reading about magnesium, but see it comes in different types.

Are you randomly taking supplements? what are your symptoms. .how do you know you are deficient?

Really, no one needs supplements unless their diet is deficient.

If you have certain symptoms or are worried about your diet lacking something, see your GP and ask for blood tests .

The exception is Vit D which we are all supposed to take from October to April at least.

If you think you need more iron, it's best to have a blood test as too much iron is dangerous.

EPO is for breast pain and can help PMT but there is no point using it if you have neither.

Very few people need to take Vit B (there are different types, anyway) if their diet is good.

The whole vitamin/ supplement thing is a huge business and most of what people swallow isn't necessary at all.

When I had the very low ferritin diagnosis I was given a box of ferrous Fumarate and had my poo checked for blood. That was negative.
I asked to have my bloods rechecked and was told no.
I assume the low ferritin is heavy periods, so I’m continuing to take one a day until I get a coil fitted.
I have breast pain and PMT.
Vitamin B I take as I read it was for energy.

It’s vitamin B complex I take.

I'm 51 still having regular periods.

I take the Menopace Plus tablets, Evening Primrose oil (for breast tenderness) and added in a vitamin B complex a while ago to help with anxiety.

I do get the 'no-one needs supplements if their diet is sufficient' pov but for me it's more manageable to take supplements than worry about the content of everything that I'm eating.

The EPO definitely helped with breast soreness, and my anxiety felt less out of control after I started taking the B complex vitamins.
