Hi all I am 53,
I wonder could someone please help me, I started HRT Evorel at the end of May so far no change whatsoever, still night sweats not sleeping, ache and pains. My doctor told me to ring before I get a new prescription of HRT, she then said I should also be on Utrogestan, I collected my prescription and on the leaflet said start to take on days 15-26 of your cycle. I have passed day 15, when should I start it? Also do I continue to take the HRT or wait for a month and start again. I’m so confused

Isn't it a shame that GPs don't actually tell women what to do! Hmm

The answer is, it doesn't really matter! A few days isn't going to make a difference. What some women do (and my meno consultant suggests this) is to stick to the same day each month- so 1st July, 1st August etc. As long as you take 12 capsules (x2) within the space of a month, that's fine. It's also fine to have estrogen only for a bit longer than 4 weeks when you start the regime.

Many women don't have regular cycles when they start HRT, so they just choose a date and stick with it.
Also, depending on what dose of Evorel you are on, if you don't feel much better in another 4 weeks or so, you might need a higher dose.

ps Utrogestan is part of HRT! (Not just your patch.)

Thank you @JinglingHellsBells I was so keen to start it, the thought of getting a full nights sleep Smile I’m on Evoril 50. Going to carry on another few months fingers crossed.

LizaMac I'be just started ( last week) the same patches as you - and due to start the progesterone tablets tonight. I'm sure I'm supposed to have the on patches continuously changing them twice a week but the progesterone from day 14 ( day 1 being first day of period) for 12-14 days.
