Lack of concentration/forgetfulness

Struggling to concentrate and keep forgetting things. Some examples

Drove down a bus only road, twice
Couldn't find the car in the car park
Forgot to buy daughters birthday card
Lots of work related mistakes

I think people describe it as brain fog and that's exactly how it feels.

Help

How do you feel about HRT ?

sandwiches77 · 10/06/2021 07:22

DinosaurDiana happy to take HRT, will it really improve the brain fog? I was wondering about any herbal remedies

I’m not on it so can’t say, but in your situation I’d be tempted to try it.
Work related mistakes could lead to disciplinary action, driving down the bus only road could lead to action too if there’s cameras on it.
I just think you need to think about trying a solution if it’s affecting your life.
Someone will come along who has been in your situation.

I had the same problem, struggling with work, forgetting things and even getting lost driving a route I’d done numerous times before. Started HRT a few months ago and the difference is already really noticeable. I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

Are you having disturbed sleep too?
I sometimes get this a little when I'm not sleeping.

passmethemilk · 10/06/2021 08:02

Sorry my post sounded dismissive I didn't mean it like that. I think sometimes the brain fog feels worse when I'm not sleeping, which I assume is me being pre menopausal.

sandwiches77 · 10/06/2021 08:10

passmethemilk don't worry I know what you mean. Yes I do have disturbed sleep at times, it's a bit of a vicious circle as my lack of sleep is can sometimes be caused by me worrying that I've losing my mind as I've forgotten stuff

iheartmysmart thanks for sharing your experience. I'll give HRT a go

I’ve been awake since 4.30am having conversations with people in my head, and those conversations will never take place in person.
I think/worry about stuff that doesn’t matter. I sometimes wish I could turn my brain off for the night !
