Did you give up your job or go part time due to menopause symptoms?

I keep reading this on the internet and have struggled with fatigue and insomnia myself so not conducive to a 12 hr day.
I also know a couple of mid 50s women who gave up work.
Did you quit your job and if so what did you do.?

No. I retrained in my early 50s and took on a new job, self employed.

I think it's awful if women give up for because of the menopause because if they can use HRT and get the right type, it works and they don't need to make those drastic changes.

One of the main reasons I took HRT was for insomnia and hot flushes which I didn't want while working face to face with clients.

That is fantastic jinglinghellsbells.Im taking hrt in the hope I can still cope with my job.
No way did hot flushes and boiling hot kitchens go together.🤣
I did have a major bout of depression that almost made me quit.Seems to have passed now though through online CBT.

Quit my job, not because of the menopause, but because of a nightmare female boss who made my life a living hell as I was trying to sort out my menopause symptoms. Moved to a job where my line managers are more understanding, there is a menopause policy, and my colleagues have a menopause support network. Best thing I ever did - I was seriously considering throwing myself under a train before I got out of there.

Sweatybetty20 glad you found somewhere more suitable.
I work with 20 something men so no hope of any understanding.
I know what you mean about the struggle though.
