What is happening to me?!!

I have just been out shopping and now back in the car crying because I just feel like crap. I have been peri-menopausal for about 18 months and I have been on Evorel Sequi for three. I am tired all the time and really struggling to control my weight. When I do feel like doing exercise (a Joe Wicks or a long brisk walk) I wake up the next day feeling like I've been run over by a truck! I can't bear this feeling any longer. Can anyone recommend any supplements I can take to help make me feel more normal? Maybe I need to change my HRT, I don't know. I lost my Mum this year and obviously still grieving but this feeling of being physically wiped out is making me feel even worse. I'm 50 and feel like 80 some mornings! I eat a well-balanced diet, I hardly drink alcohol because i can't bear the way it makes me feel the next day. No heart issues, low cholesterol and I'm not diabetic. Help!

you are definitely not alone ! The way you are feeling is very normal but that doesn't make it any easier for you to cope with I'm sure. Advice here might not be a good thing but try as a first to find things you like to do instead of what you should be doing..is Joe wicks what works or some slower restorative functional movement ..yoga is one but there are loads of other exercises out there ...

You’re not alone. I was doing quite well but gave nosedived during lockdown. Gaining weight which won’t shift at all despite eating probably 50% what I used to.

I totally hear you OP. Have had tears of my own this afternoon.

On HRT too but would be interested in any ideas about other remedies I could use to complement.

Flowers for you.

Thank you for the replies and sorry to hear you're both feeling rubbish too. I have come to my Dad's for a slice of his homemade fruitcake and a mug of tea 😄

I do wonder how Davina McCall pushes herself through it. I did do a yoga thing which was combined with HIIT but again, my body hurt so much afterwards I eventually had to stop doing it - I'll look online for an alternative.

So sorry for your loss OP. That’s tough enough but with hormones too, there is no wonder you are feeling rubbish. Flowers

I’m Peri and am still finding my way. Was sobbing yesterday. Bit brighter today. I’ve been feeling totally exhausted too. I did go back to yoga and it did feel restorative rather than draining. Yoga is more than just the stretches - something like Hatha? Yoga might be more restorative than Ashtanga yoga for example. It might help to find a good teacher.

I find what I need exercise-wise changesduring my cycle. During my two better weeks I love and feel energised by walking. Could walk for miles. During my worst hormone days I literally need to do nothing. It might help to log how you feel on a specific app to see how things change during the month and the impact of different things.

Sorry not to have more wisdom to share. I’m at the beginning of my learning about menopause. One thing I do know is that with everything you have going on, being kind to yourself is essential. Try not to give yourself a hard time on the tough days.
