Hi , I haven’t had a period in over a year & not taking HRT yet . I have posted on here before , Is it normal to have hip pain at night ? Sometimes I can’t sleep with the pain on the sides of my hips the only relief is laying on my back
Most of my friends are menopausal but don’t have this problem I’m quite worried
I do need to see my Dr

It may be completely unrelated. See your doctor and get an x-ray taken.

Joint pain was, by far, my worst symptom. We got a new mattress because, before I realised what was happening, I thought it must be the mattress that's uncomfortable, not my body.

I could not sleep on my side, hip and shoulder pain, could not even bend my arms and be comfortable. So like you I was sleeping on my back with my arms out straight.

Luckily my periods went mad, HRT was started and within days the pain was gone. Being able to sit still for longer than a couple of minutes was a revelation.

I had quite a strong reaction to the covid vaccine, which included a night of joint pain, it was a real reminder of just how bad it had been. I can't believe I lived with it for so long.

I had hip pain which weirdly went away when I stopped taking a calcium supplement.
