Joint pain - any remedies - anyone try magnetic bracelet?

As the title says really. Just wondering if anyone has tried magnetic bracelets for joint pain?

The creams / gels etc don't really work for me as it comes and goes and can be large areas - hips / knees etc. All generally lower body.

Bracelets are quackery.

People clutch at straws, desperately hoping a bracelet might help wrist and hand pain.

If there's a slight improvement one day, it's easy to think it's the bracelet is helping.

But really it's not.

My exh has one, though he has arthritis in that wrist from breaking it twice in his younger years.

Not sure if it actually works but he also takes glucosamine. I used to buy it for him in Holland and Barrett.

Have you tried magnesium?
Sorted out my aching joints straight away.

Hi, thanks all. Yes, very likely clutching at straws! Thank you for the reality check.

Yes, I do take glucosamine, have daily magnesium salt baths, do yoga, swimming and other low impact, as well as weights etc.

Turmeric. Completely eliminated my peri joint pain, well along with regular weight bearing exercise.

Toty in what form do you take turmeric please?
partyatthepalace · 16/05/2021 14:06

There is some evidence tumeric works - you need the right ones to do some reading around that and try for 3 months?

Scramblinghealingdreaming · 19/05/2021 15:43

Hi, thanks for the further responses. Yes I already have tumeric (both in capsule form and at least a teaspoon with black pepper a day on top of), as well as glucosamine etc. Doing pretty much all by the book and still need some extra support.

As you have posted this in the meno part of MN, do you think it's associated with menopause? Are you post menopause yet?

Have you been to discuss this with your GP?

It might be a good idea because it could be rheumatoid arthritis, which needs specialist treatment sooner rather than later to prevent permanent damage to joints. It could be 'just' the wear and tear of osteoporosis, but either way you need a diagnosis, possibly by X rays or blood tests.

If it's osteoarthritis, HRT may well help if you have other meno symptoms as well.

*tear of osteoporosis- apologies- osteoarthritis (typo.)

I swear by turmeric I read about having a quarter tsp of this, made as a latte (with cinnamon a tsp of dried coconut milk, boiled water and sweetener) before bed. Been Drinking this for two months now and has been a real help 😀
