Hi I had phone appt couple weeks ago with the GP at my practice who is meno specialist to discuss symptoms of brain fog , low libido , insomnia , Eratic periods getting heavier, mood swings anxiety aching joints looking to get HRT . She was quite dismissive of symptoms said unlikely menopause as still having periods 🙄

Anyway she sent me for blood tests including thyroid etc had called from to say bloods all normal except FSH levels indicate peri and prescription had been sent to chemist for 3 months supply evorel conti patches .
After reading the bumpf and google search I don’t think this form of HRT should have been prescribed whilst in peri and still having periods can anyone confirm ?
Thanks

You shouldn’t be having conti untill 12 months after your last period, you need evorel sequi or separate oestrogen patch/gel and progesterone.

Hi, I have also been prescribed Evorel Conti, even though I was still having periods. When I read that it was only for menopause I tried to contact the doctor, but we are only allowed to speak to a nurse regarding HRT, who said it was fine because the doctor prescribed it and my age (53). so not sure what to do - I've been on it for 2 months and It has helped with night sweats, and maybe aching muscles, but have lots of period pain and stomach ache, so in a dilemma.

Hi there all this hrt is confusing i was prescribed evorel estradiol patches along side of vagianal utrogestan progesterone which you need both hormones if your still having periods im only 4 weeks in though my issue is i dont know when to take the progesterone as ive been told to take it on the 10th day of my cycle for 10 days but my periods are always late and some times i miss them altogether any advice would be appreciated please

As someone through the menopause, conti is correct. Sequi is for those in peri. Doctors should know this.

I’m 48, have been on HRT since I was 45 (femoston 1-10 tablet) and GO recently switched me to Evorel sequential and progesterone tablets if that helps? I’m still having periods, along with joint pain, hot flushes, The Rage, heavy flooding, itchiness and anxiety and all the other shite (for which HRT is helping).
