Perimenopause or stress or something else - how do you tell?

I have a few symptoms that might be perimenopause but could equally be stress (teacher, taught live full timetable throughout, now got TAGs, plus moved house and seriously ill teen daughter - it has been a hellva year!), slightly over weight, getting older (44) or long Covid that just won’t full go away! Or a combination of everything.

Main symptoms are:
Fatigue - I am always knackered
Hyper alert - not anxious exactly but like I am prepared for fight or flight all the time
Grumpier that usual and snappy
Boobs feel really heavy
Some night sweats but only the odd night
Periods have got closer together and even lighter, I have only ever been 2-3 days light flow.
Headache - low level but nearly all the time

Is it worth a conversation with the doctor, none of the above is major but...?

It's both :)

Periods changing is the first real sign.

But stress makes everything linked to hormones worse.

A chat with your dr is only necessary if a) you feel you have something else wrong other than peri meno or b) you want to ask for HRT.

To be honest it feels like normal life to me. You have been through a lot and it's showing. I try to take multi vits and get enough sleep. Im sure the dr would give you something if you want but i dont think everything is solved by a tablet.

I would advise you talk to your doctor.
we all have different bodies and coping levels.
I think it is good to look at what is available and what is suitable for you.
I think discussing you list and see how you go.
Firstly and foremost you have to look after you, as my doctor stares at me and says.
