Combined pill/HRT

Just wondering if there was any info on why women, particularly those struggling to access HRT in their forties and with no other medical issues, couldn’t just ask their GP for the combined pill? Both seem to provide estrogen and progesterone and I can’t quite work out the difference. TIA

Hi
The combined pill is a higher dose of hormones than hrt. The hrt I am taking is body identical oestrogen gel and utrogestan pessaries.

I don't really know much about this either but wondering why there is more concern over risks from hrt if doses are lower than the pill?
