So had to come off HRT 2 weeks ago whilst I await a hysteroscopy and biopsy on Friday. Have had so many bad headaches and migraines since. I used to get a migraine just before a breakthrough bleed after the progesterone part of the cycle now can't shift them and having more bad days than good. Hoping that post op I'll be able to go back on HRT - but is this normal? Is it the lack of oestrogen and progesterone that cause it ? been on HRT for 2.5 years and love it ! not sure what I'll do if they say I can't go back on it ! I'm an emotional wreck now as well !

There seem to be differing medical opinions on this.
I had 2 biopsies done, one with no hysteroscopy. There was no suggestion of stopping my HRT for those.
(My specialist is leading UK menopause expert.)

I can't understand why you would stop your HRT because if - very worst case- it was endometrial cancer, another few days of HRT would make very little if any difference.

Sorry you feel so poorly. It will be hormonal.

I had migraines on HRT, which I went on almost eleven years ago, sometimes weekly, they were awful. I just put up with them really, I learned how to divert sometimes because you get to know the signs. I had had migraine years before when on the pill too. Anyway I came off HRT nearly nine years ago and that stopped it. I don't think I've had more than a couple of migraines since and am generally better all round.

It seems to be the other way round for you. I do know someone who finds that HRT eases and prevents the frequency of her migraines.

I hope the hysteroscopy and biopsy go well and you have good results, op. Do consult a migraine specialist too.

Hi jingling the consultant insisted I stopped with immediate effect after the scan. They tried to do a biopsy there and then but failed apparently due to some treatment I had for abnormal smears some time ago. She wants me to consider a more a coil - I’ll consider anything right now to get Back on hrt. I used to have migraines just before a bleed and when I was on the pill years ago but o think hrt has made them less.
