Never ending heavy period!

Just checking in - first period since august began with ten days brown blood then insanely heavy flooding and clots around 4-5 inches on occasion. It's now been 2 weeks and has calmed a little the past few days, however I woke early with flooding again.

I will call the GP. I have transexamic acid but not been taking it due to recently having the vaccine (period was heavy pre it ). Mainly I'm worried about how anaemic I must be although I am taking spatone, but also really fed up now.

Also been weird as no pain - normally it's unbearable. Today I do have a small amount of cramping though.

Is this standard menopause symptom?

Thanks

Sorry to hear this. I had a similar episode to this and it turned out to be a benign polyp. I had it removed and a coil fitted which helped with periods going forward. Unfortunately my episode ended with a haemorrhage which probably won’t happen to you but I would say go to your GP. Of course you may just be having a rogue heavy period due to menopause which I imagine would be more likely as you’ve had a break in your periods. I’m no expert of course so chat to GP is needed. I hope things settle down soon.

I've had a pain around my left ovary since last summer but have been scanned and nothing found, and it does seem like it's a muscle pull. But because I have no pain, I am wondering if something else might be bleeding ! Will definitely contact GP today.

Good luck. Can you imagine if men had to put up with all this!
