I am 38 and just started evorel conti - the evorel patches where you have evorel 50 for two weeks then evorel conti for two weeks. I feel tired, moody and angry all the time. I was fine before I started using the patches. My GP said my FSH levels and blood tests are showing that I have already gone through the menopause. Has anyone else experienced any of this?

If you are already through the menopause then should be on the continuous patches. I went through it early and am on conti continuous ones. I felt like you at the start, very very angry and moody all the time. It took 4 months to settle down. It was that bad I was nearly going to quit them, but persevered. Speak to your Gp again as the patches you are on are for women who still have periods and are currently in peri menopause.

Thank you Tootsey11 for your post, it’s reassuring to hear I am not alone. I have a gyny appointment, well I am on the waiting list, so I will tell them what you have said.

How do you feel now?

The anger has subsided a lot, I've only got the odd day were I get a bit ragey for a few minutes. I'm generally much calmer. Patches have helped with the hot flushes, but am still waking 5 times a night so generally exhausted all the time.

My advice regarding your gynae app, read up and be ready to argue your case. I went to see a 'specialist' gynae in October last. He hadn't a clue about menopause, and what I'm reading on other forums, most gynae's don't know much. The one I seen used his phone for information about hrt. It took him that long I eventually told him all he needed to know. You might get a good one, but be prepared.

Thank you Tootsey11, that’s so helpful of you.

I’m sorry you keep waking up five times a night (hate that too). I don’t want to sound like an angry woman, but men don’t realise how easy they have it - in this sense.

I will take your advice and go with my own info.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and keep strong, you are a trooper!
(If that doesn’t sound too annoying!)
