I had full hysterectomy just under a fortnight ago. How long is it likely to be before the menopause symptoms start?

I had a full hysterectomy in mid January. Hot flushes started within a couple of weeks. I was offered HRT at my two week catch up with my surgeon then she remembered I’d had breast cancer in my 20s and sent me to get sign off from my specialist. I’m back on annual mammograms but my oncologist has signed off on it, he said the other risks were so detrimental (heart health, bone density and vaginal health) that with monitoring it should be fine. I’m on estrogel - I only take one pump and am sleeping properly again. I’m early 40s and my cancer was hormone positive. My surgeon recommended I speak with Mr Nick Panay if I can get an appointment as he is apparently a specialist of menopause and cancer.

I had surgical menopause at 50 was already getting symptoms of flushes, sweats etc, the hey just increased a bit. However I decided against hrt, stuck with the sweats etc and they have gradually waned to just occasional short lasting ones that don't bother me, I often felt worse on hormones so am quite happy without hrt.
