First few days of oestrogen gel - what to expect?

I'm on day 3 of HRT, I feel worse than I did! Very wobbly like low blood sugar all day, threatening sense of a headache about to drop, the worst 2 nights of night sweats I've had. Feel so tired.

Has anyone had this - and how long before I might feel better?

Sorry to hear of others' anxiety and other symptoms. I'm OK - went down to one pea-sized blob on each arm and feel less pregnant weird- I feel tired but more normal now.

Tearful etc as usual, but that may be because my work is insanely busy, DC being back at school only lasted 3 days before the bubble burst, and I have to find new childcare for the easter holidays with 2 weeks' notice while isolating with a 4 year old Grin.

The real test for me will be day 17 onwards when I start progesterone- if I sleep well and don't have night sweats and batshit mood swings in the second half of the month I will count that as a win.

The most annoying thing is that I was getting into intermittent fasting and the new hormones are giving me very wobbly low blood sugar moments which messes up my day and makes it hard to stick to my plans. But hopefully that will settle.

There are lots of women on more than 4 pumps. Davina McCall 100 patch and 1 pump. Meg Mathews 5 pumps. Liz Earle 5 to 6 pumps. I have friends on 4, 5 and 6 pumps. All under consultants. I think it's best to go through a consultant rather than gain advise on here.

I swapped to gel as patches kept falling off. Had been on patches less than a month, but once on Oestrogel it took about 2-3 months for my joint pain to reduce. I started on 2 pumps, almost a year ago, & still on same dose. Pain is gone, but memory is so bad I had to resign my job! Guess we have a few choices to make when the menopause strikes, & sleeping/distractions/ memory are my main problems. If your symptoms are seriously affecting your life, see your GP. There might be other reasons for your symptoms or perhaps you need a higher dose?
