About 3 years ago I had a swathe of symptoms, initially these were literally life changing and my quality of life plummeted... I tried lots of solutions but nothing seemed to work. Over time these symptoms became more chronic than acute, the anxiety although hideous and everyday, is more manageable for example. Recently a friend advised it may be meno after a consultation at Newson it was agreed this was likely and I’m waiting to start HRT. Do you think your body gets used to functioning without oestrogen? Initially it was horrendous but now it’s just awful, still no way to live but wondering if anyone else had the same? Thank you

I feel the same as have got used to feeling this way, generally crap, and I certainly don’t panic about every niggle as I used to. Once somebody had mentioned the menopause the feeling of impending death eased and although my quality of life isn’t what it was prior to this it is what it is.

I have just started hrt after a consultation with a menopause doctor so will see how it goes. I was reluctant to start as I am so used to feeling like the and was even saying to dh that I was ok really so perhaps I didn’t need it. However he did say that it would improve my quality of life and although I have got used to my feelings I am certainly not myself if that makes sense...

@HelloDaisy thank you so much, that’s exactly it... I swear I’ve settled into this ‘new normal’ it’s been so long that I forget what it’s like to feel as I did before ☹️ Hopefully HRT will remind us of the original us
