Thinking about HRT and privately sourcing testosterone

Hi, been battling through menopause and am a about 4 years into it so getting used to it. But another symptom has recently been thrown in which is teenage smelling BO!! So starting to have to wash underarms at night and deodorise at night as well as in the morning.
Have not yet approached GP about menopause generally, because my basic position is that it's a natural process but soooo miss having sexual desire.
It's like a huge part of my personality has left the building.
Anyone had any luck with HRT or ever tried testosterone? Not keen on becoming more blokey than I already am tho Smile

Take a look at Dr Louise Newsons website. She is a meno specialist and theres loads of info on there. Or look at the posts on here re HRT, loads of info.
I've been on hrt - oestrogel and progesterone tablets for over a year now. I recently got testosterone prescribed from a gyneacologist (referred from my gp) but only been taking a week so can't tell if its working yet!

@SouthernMamma I don't really go for the idea it's a natural process because it's not that long ago that women's life expectancy was decades lower, or they died in childbirth, or smallpox, or whatever. Medical advances have helped us all live longer but quality of life is important too.

However.... if you try HRT as PPs have said, you can only get testosterone privately at first and you usually can't use it until you have had some improvement/ trial run with estrogen. It's not essential to use testosterone and is often given for energy and muscle strength.
