My knees hurt and my left hip. This is often accompanied by lower back ache. I take cod liver oil and glucosamine. Is this a joy of peri menopause? felt really off today with it all

I don't know if it's related to meno but for me it was left hip, left frozen shoulder and both knees.....ah the joys!

My legs feel double their usual weight

My left hip hurts all of the time and now my right shoulder has started. Never even realised that this has been happening since the start of the Peri. I'll blame the brain fog for that bit Grin

I developed excruciating joint pain within a couple of months, panicked thinking l had arthritis at 48 but it was perimenopause.
What helped was taking Turmeric daily (50% better)
and HRT (90%)
I tried to come off the HRT recently and within 4 days could hardly walk upstairs, so am back on it sadly.

Yes, knees incredibly stiff, lower back, hips too!

It has got worse the last few months but the penny has only just dropped that it is a menopause thing as I’ve had so few other symptoms.

Think it’s time to look seriously into HRT now.

Another one suffering with sudden knee problems. I have always had a bit of a dodgy hip but it seems exacerbated by all the circulating hormones.

Applejack87 · 02/03/2021 07:51

I’m the same sometimes the pain in my hips keeps me awake at night , I hobble around like an old woman first thing in the morning.
We had a walk up a hill last weekend the day after I paid for it with pain in my hips
This is one symptom I’m looking into HRT

Mine was knees hands and occasionally shoulder for a few yrs.
Started get and it has all gone away!
I didn't expect it to as a specialist thought it was my job.

oneglassandpuzzled · 02/03/2021 15:55

HRT resolved my very stiff shoulder joint, along with exercise. I also had a very sore little finger joint which seems less so how.

whatisforteamum · 02/03/2021 19:22

Hrt* not get

Holothane · 02/03/2021 19:24
