HRT help and advice

Started HRT today. I have read so much about permenapause and the benefits of her.
The nurse was to unhelpful.
She said I could have a stroke etc etc .
If I wanted to them it was at my own risk and tried everything to put me off.
I said are you against HRT?
No just don't want you having a stroke.
I went in happy to get patches and came out annoyed and defeated.
Anyone else had this problem xx

How horrible to have to suffer those comments (which are completely wrong anyway.)

Patches and gel (transdermal HRT) do not increase any risk of stroke above what you would have as a risk normally. This is in ALL the guidance and research. You can find it online if you search.

It's a shame she doesn't know much about HRT.

This is the NICE guidance pinned at the top of this page.

Point 1.5

the risk associated with transdermal HRT given at standard therapeutic doses is no greater than baseline population risk.

Can HRT be taken after a tia?
