Start of menopause? Or is this related to BF changes

I've always had regular, light periods. Roughly on a 27/28 day cycle.

I am almost 43, had DD at 41 (conceived easily and naturally) and am still breastfeeding (DD is 17 months). My periods came back at 4 months pp despite EBF, and were regular as clockwork again. This month though I have had 2 periods 14 days apart.

DD has just started to sleep through the night so not done a night feed for the last 2 weeks. Is this likely to be connected to the random early period or should I accept that this is the start of perimenopause?

I am not on any hormone contraception, and not pregnant (did a test I had in the drawer just to check although it seemed almost impossible).

We hadn't planned any more babies due to our age and circs but I found myself having a proper cry about it this morning :(

Be interested to hear anyone's experiences with similar. I guess I just have to wait and see what the next cycles are like before I approach GP.
