Novofem-Heavier Periods?

Yogatoga09 · 08/02/2021 12:20

I’ve been on novofem for 3 months now & some symptoms have definitely lessened but my periods are now heavier & longer. Has anyone else experienced this & will they calm down?

Yes to begin with. I've been on it for about a year now and I have a mix of light periods and heavy ones.

Thanks very much, that’s good to know. I’ll stick with it Smile

I switched about 5 months ago from Elleste (supply issues) to Novofem. I started bleeding last week while I was on the last week of a prior pack and am still bleeding rather heavily a week later, a couple of days into a new pack. This much bleeding is unusual for me, and so is the timing. I know if you take a pill late it can sometimes cause breakthrough bleeding but I’ve been on time for quite a while.

My breasts are also heavy and a bit tender (but don’t feel lumpy).

Is this normal or should I phone the GP?

The white tablets are the progesterone so it can feel a bit like you're pregnant, very tired, swollen boobs and aches. If the bleeding is unusual for you then give the gp a call to rule out anything else.

I've been on novofem for 3 months. 1st month no bleeding, 2nd month very light bleeding. Half way into red tablets in 3rd month I started bleeding and nearly 4 weeks later it hasn't stopped and is getting heavier. I've never had periods like this ever. Is this normal? X
