Hi all,
I'm new here! After years of what I think are perimenopausal symptoms, I've been prescribed hrt. The Dr prescribed Everol Sequi patches. I haven't had blood tests, I think now I'm 45 I can go on hrt straight away?
My periods are regular, I just have symptoms of anxiety, poor sleep, joint aches, headaches and lack of any sort or motivation/drive!
I'm willing to give the patches a go, bug just confused as to when I can start them. My last period ended 10 days ago, do I have to wait until my next period to start the patches?
Thanks!

Yes pharmacist told me first cycle has to start between days 1-5 of a cycle, day 1 being your first day of period.

Best of luck ! I’ve been on them since November best thing I’ve done ! X

ShortSilentNight · 17/02/2021 00:18

I’m on these now, midway through my first month and have just switched over from the estrogen-only patches to the combined ones. I started to bleed almost right away! So that’s a tiny bit annoying...hoping it stops soon. It isn’t heavy bleeding, and I feel okay otherwise.

Not really an answer to your question, just a random comment Grin

I'm on Evorel patches, is anyone else having problems with them not sticking?

SlightlySmaller · 17/02/2021 20:58

I’ve had sticking problems too - but only with a couple of batches. Ended up sticking them on with tape!

frozendaisy · 18/02/2021 03:39

It's advised not to put patches on warm skin after shower/bath, wait until you skin is cool first and dry, so I bathe, wait an hour or so before changing patches.

They seem ok mostly.

Londontown12 · 18/02/2021 08:30

I’ve had no problems! I take mine off in shower get rid of sticky residue by the time I’ve brushed my teeth I’m all dry and I stick one on bum cheek so my pants cover it otherwise if it’s not placed under underwear it probs catch or irritate me x

ive just put on my first patch after 3 weeks of ringing all chemists with no luck of them having them in. Anyone else having a mare with getting patches?

ElvisPresleysSideburns · 25/05/2021 19:30

I can't get the Everol Sequi patches either. Have only been using them for 3 months but unable to get any more. I'm really not happy as I was just settling into them.

Gp has now switched me over to Femoston tablets instead. Just taken the first one.....

Oh God are the shortages starting again?

I'm confused cos the BMS webpage says there is 'full availability' of Theramex (think that's the name of the maker) products.

I found Femoston caused me digestive upset, and the symptom relief was very patchy from them. Some women don't absorb or metabolise oral HRT very well. I don't want to go back on them! These shortages and disruption to treatment are nothing short of scandalous.

ElvisPresleysSideburns · 26/05/2021 14:00

junipertree2 it looks like it. I tried a few other chemists in my area for the patches before referring back to my GP. Am quite stressed about the Femoston Shock

GMichaelfan · 26/05/2021 14:19

i said to the chemist where i got them that if i didnt need them id be selling them. i got prescribed femseven sequi first but had no luck then spent ages ringing all around chemists to get some. ive already put my order in for when i run out as dont fancy doing all this again

Hi @GMichaelfan, I have two packs of ES left - 8 weeks' worth from Monday.

Should I order more ASAP? Do GPs prescribe in advance if there are HRT shortages? I think in some ways this may make matters worse for others.

I looked on the Oxford Pharmacy website (a private pharmacist) and even they are out of stock, which is serious bad news. What the hell is happening? ES really helps me and I will be so PO if I have to discontinue treatment.

GMichaelfan · 02/06/2021 11:27

@junipertree2 hi i have ordered my next lot. i contacted my doctors who has changed my prescription to tablets but id managed to get patches so would really like to stick with them if possible. Good Luck everyone on the hunt lol

GMichaelfan · 02/06/2021 11:30

@ElvisPresleysSideburns oh it looks like its going to be a mission to get more and as its the first time ive taken HRT i only got 2 packs oredred and i dont want to be messing about swapping different brands

GMichaelfan · 02/06/2021 11:33

@Hairobsessed123 Hi ive only been on them a week, flushes gone already and altho im still awake most the night my dreams seem to be more possitive, I am tho really worried about the weight gain thing. Hows it going for you?
