I’m looking for recommendations for a menopause specialist in West Yorkshire. I’m 53, took HRT for 18 months but stopped nearly two years because of problems with the progesterone tablets. I’d seen two different doctors, one openly admitted that she knew virtually nothing about menopause and the other said she treats it with anti depressants.
I gave up taking it, I’d tried two different types and two doses, my migraines we’re getting far worse and I didn’t feel it was worth feeling crap for two weeks out of four.
I’m at a point where I’m considering seeing a specialist who has knowledge and time to go through what might suit me best.
The night sweats are making me wake several times a night and twice a month I’m bad with mood swings, terrible rage which has ended up with punching myself in the head, stomach and legs and seriously thinking of suicide. This doesn’t happen every month but it’s quite scary to be so out of control. I had an episode of it a few days ago and I know it’s hormonal.
I’d be grateful if anyone could tell me if they’ve found a good doctor in West Yorkshire, I’m happy to pay whatever the costs are just to feel back to my old self
