Hi. I’m 48 and have always had regular periods and never really suffered with any PMT.
Last month though I had 2 periods ; that were as long and heavy as my usual monthly period. I also got a lot of cramp style pain and incredibly painful achy legs that kept going dead. The main thing that is bothering me as well as many other physical symptoms is my mental outlook. I am snappy, so so tired all the time but mostly I’m just not feeling any joy in anything. Is this normal? Am I depressed? I feel like I’m falling apart

Awww big hugs 🤗
It’s definitely sounds like peri menopause and if u find it difficult to cope with symptoms give your GP a ring and have a chat about Hrt xx

It could be yes. Look on the Newson Health website, there is a huge amount of information and advice, it helped me significantly. Take care.

Sounds like it could be , however, unusual bleeding lasting longer or more often than usual should always be checked out. I had lots of classic peri symptoms (from about 47, not yet 50) which I’d almost dismissed as ‘just the menopause’ and ‘to be expected’. However on having full bloods done, and scans, turned out it was actually Pernicious Anaemia and ovarian cysts. Both of which could have caused all kinds of serious issues if ignored and both of which require medication and/or monitoring. Best wishes.

Thanks everyone xxx
I’m definitely going to get some more information and speak to my gp. I’ll wait to contact my GP though until the whole COVID situation is a bit calmer.
