I'm 54, post meno & my skin is super dry but I also have blackheads/spots around my nose & chin. Nothing is working. I tried a pink clay mask for the t zone to help the spots but all that did was dry my skin even further. Suggestions please but nothing too expensive- I already have a drawer full of products that haven't worked Sad

I use Paula’s Choice 2% Bha after morning cleanse and La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo after evening cleanse. Ceravé moisturising lotion am and pm.

I use LRP Effaclar face wash am and take makeup off with Bodyshop Camomile balm cleanser followed by the face wash. I don’t use any serums.

So it’s quite a basic routine and it seems to work to keep spots at bay. It’s not expensive either. The Bha is probably the most expensive but it lasts me a long time, about 6 months. I don’t apply with cotton wool though. I put about five drops into a cupped hand then dab/pat/rub it on.

Should have added that I do use HRT though which helps lubricate the skin.

Thanks @Deux, I'm not on Hrt at the moment but maybe worth thinking about

Smile On the diet front, I do think eating some “lubricating” foods helps, like avocado and salmon. I buy the Tesco 2 cooked salmon fillets at £4 a pack and have it for my lunch twice a week, for example.

The other thing that has worked for me is dermaplaning/face shaving. It’s a good exfoliator and gets rid of all the peach fuzz hair too. Have a look on YouTube for a tutorial if you’re interested.
