Anyone else menopausal and finding difficulty in getting back to sleep after waking up at stupid o'clock? Im shattered at bedtime ( around 11.30 -12) go off in heavy sleep for 2 hours then awake with all sorts of crap going round in my head. Finally get in my best time for sleep from 5 till 9.
During the day get overwhelming tiredness around mid afternoon and will drop off for an hour deep sleep. Have arthritis which does not help.

Huge thank you to everyone who suggested magnesium! I could have written OP's post. Peri menopausal, haven't slept properly for a long time now.

Tried the Floradix liquid magnesium on the strength of this thread and am sleeping better than I have for years.
Thank you for saving my sanity!

I'm so glad I've found this thread as the 4am wakings are really getting to me now! Off to order some magnesium supplements 🙈

HRT fixed this for me: it was one of my main reasons for starting it.
And a menopause specialist would discuss with you your breast cancer family history concerns, so don't exclude the HRT option.
I like my weighted blanket, too.

Sleep and mood

Magnesium here too! It's brilliant and you can get some that are more towards helping with sleep.

Good luck Thanks
