I have recently started to suspect I may be perimenopausal/menopausal. Can anyone offer any advice and point me in the direction of what I can do/read/supplements to take, just any advice would be appreciated.

I used to be a brilliant sleeper, never woke during the night and now sleep is fitful, i especially seem to wake round 2-3am am wide awake and I can stay this way for up
to 2 hours before I drop off again.

I get hot sometimes during the night but no flushes during the day.

My periods are unchanged and every 28 days but my stomach bloats up so massively to the point I cannot see my feetConfused It's ridiculous

I get anxiety on and off, worrying about the most trivial of things, from being scared to leave the house fearing obscure accidents even to the point of sink holes opening up in the ground. This is significantly worse at night.

I'm 45, fairly healthy and exercise regularly. I'm not having any alcohol or sugar at the moment and don't take any medication.

I have no clue about HRT and feel a bit lost 😞

We are have to start somewhere learning!

I recommend the website of Dr Louise Newson, especially her podcasts and videos. www.menopausedoctor.co.uk/podcasts This is all under the Rescources tab on her website.

Hi, I've Been on hrt tablets for 3 months. Since taking hrt tablets I have been having really painful cramps in legs. My doctor put me on quinine tablets and was advised to stay on them for a month before I notice a difference. Been on them 2 weeks. No improvement yet so I am taking cocodomol in the day and before I go to sleep. But I am not really getting any sleep with these leg cramps. I am considering stopping taking these Novofem hrt tablets. Any advice please.

I really think you ought to speak to another dr or go back to your own and ask for advice.

What is quinine supposed to do and why does your dr think you need it?

There are all kinds of reasons for leg cramps but taking quinine or a strong pain killer is not great and you need some better treatment.
