Do you all go for routine mammograms ?

Yes. I had mine on 13th November. Thank goodness I went, diagnosed with breast cancer. Told I would not have felt anything for at least a couple of years.
It was that small.
I had a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy last week just waiting for the pathology report for the rest of my treatment.
I'm 60. Never missed one since I was eligible.

I’m so so sorry to hear this , I wish you a good recovery . I’ve just booked a mammogram but now that we’ve going into a lock down I’m very nervous going into a hospital
I know that it’s essential but the fear of covid terrifies me , I know that hospitals are very particular but it doesn’t help

I went for my first in November & was recalled to investigate 2 lumps. I went to my local hospital for the initial mammogram & a larger hospital further away for the second. Both settings had clear guidance on what to do to keep everyone safe & I wouldn't hesitate to go again if I needed to.

@Noidea2114 - good luck with your treatment, thank goodness you went Thanks

@applejack87 I had mine in a large hospital ( not a city) and it was so safe. Hand sanitizer all around, everyone wore a mask. In the mammogram waiting room only had seats for 5 people at a time. Each room was cleaned between patients.
My operation was as a day case. This was no where near the wards.
Since this happened to me I encourage everyone to attend it in the words it could save your life.

I have heard from different sources that breast experts don't think every 3 years is enough. In many other countries, it's annually or 2 years.

So- don't delay and if you can afford a private one in between, that's something to consider.

I had mine at end of last year. I felt very safe. it was a mobile unit in the hospital car park. Only one person in at a time. When I arrived one of the two changing cubicles was being thoroughly disinfected and as I left there was someone ready to jump in and disinfect that one.

Instructions were very clear on not to arrive early or late.

Just been invited to my first in 2 weeks. I'll definitely be going.
