Body identical progesterone not prescribed in Scotland

Recently want to doctor to initiate an HRT prescription. I had for all my research and decided that what was best for me was micronised (body identical) progesterone and oestrogen via psych or gel. It turns out that this is not an approved medicine for HRT in Scotland (although it is prescribed for fertility treatment). I am hugely disappointed and am now back to the drawing board in terms of approach. Anyone else experience the same in Scotland and share my frustration!?

I have heard this on other forums, sadly. I am not sure if it is in ALL of Scotland or just certain areas. The consultant who runs Menopause Matters website is in Scotland and she answers emails for the fee of £20 or something like that so you could try asking her.

Your option is to find a private specialist who can prescribe it for you.
