Increased libido and menopause

Has anyone else experienced a huge rise in their libido? I'm 50 and been perimenopausal for the past 5 years with no interest whatsoever.

I had been on the minipill without periods fo 10 years, so decided to take a break to see what was going on with my periods. Well I came off in September, mid Nov a period turned up and since that finished I've felt like a bloody teenager; it's all I think about and can't get enough (my husband can't believe it!).

Is this my hormones getting back to normal (although I haven't felt like this for 20 years) or another symptom of the menopause?

How did you find out you were peri menopausal if you were on the mini pill? I've been wondering this as I have constant anxiety and low mood and recently can't get to sleep before about 2am despite getting up at 7am. Feel like I'm going slightly crazy. I've had no libido for years, on pill at 18, changed to mini pill at 40 due to migraine. Only time I had a libido was when I was pregnant! Hoping I may feel the same as you if I come off the pill as it causes big problems with DH

I think this is just a phase of your peri-menopause. I say enjoy it! Just don't get pregnant like my great grandmother did at 49.
