Low ferritin

I’ve recently discovered that my ferritin is low so on iron. Did the poo test and was fine.
I was then expecting to be suggested that I have a coil as I have a day or two where it’s very heavy, but no. Just told to take iron for 3 months. No follow up.
Now, I’d be quite happy to stop my periods altogether so can I ask about people’s experiences of the coil ?

I had the same a few years ago - course of iron tablets helped temporarily but my periods were so heavy I was recommended mirena in the end. Ferritin levels fine now. Had a light bleed for about 6 months and a bit crampy but no periods since.
