Morning all
I've recently changed my HRT prescription following discussion with my GP. I've been on continuous HRT for about 8 years (am now 54) and have switched from a sequential dose to continuous. I've also, at the same time, reduced the dose of estrogen and progestogen in the HRT I'm taking.
I was on Femeston 2/10 (2mg estradiol/ 10mg dydrogesterone for 14 days); I'm now on Femeston conti (0.5mg estradiol /2.5 dydrogesterone).
The first month or so was okay but I'm now in month 3 and some of the symptoms that led me to take HRT in the first place have returned - namely, hot sweats, awful sleep and anxiety. I can't swear these are all down the the HRT switch as it has coincided with a change in my job which has made it more stressful, but I'm pretty confident the HRT underpins at least some of it.
I've looked on the menopause matters site which lists the Femostan brand I'm taking as 'ultra low dose' (while the previous HRT I was taking is described as 'medium dose') and I'm wondering about asking to go up to the Femoston 1mg estradiol/5mg dydrogesterone.
Interested if anyone else has had experiences like this and what you ended up doing?
