I'm curious about Hypothyroid.

I can read plenty on medical web pages with long lists of symptoms but how did this present if you have it?

Can you have one or two from the list and still have this condition?

Are there obvious signs or does it creep up on you like the menopause does?

I didn't have all the symptoms, and it definitely crept up on me pretty slowly. It was actually a friend that suspected I might have it and suggested that I go for a blood test. My main symptoms were incredible tiredness (almost like jetlag) and my hair both thinned out and became more coarse- the drain was noticeably full of my hair after I had a shower. I suspected these symptoms were being caused by stress, working too hard, or an early menopause. It was quite a shock to find out it was my thyroid!

I have autoimmune thyroid issues and when they were out of balance (low) there was the extreme fatigue but also a buzzy feeling like my brain was not working properly. I also had short term memory loss / extreme brain fog.

I was exactly the same as @Winterbeee. Very tired and thinning hair. I thought it was because I had a three-year-old and a baby- I expected to be knackered! I mentioned this to my GP at an appointment and she said, well, let’s just check your blood as well. Turns out ny thyroid was barely functioning. Going on medication (Levothyroxine) made a huge difference, I felt more energetic within a couple of weeks.

So get it checked out even if you only have a couple of symptoms.💐
