Is vertigo a meno symptom?

I’m 51 and perimenopausal. For the last 4 days I’ve had a permanent feeling of vertigo (room moving). It’s easy to blame everything on hormones and it might be a virus, but for the last 12-18 months I’ve also had dry itchy ear canals so I’m wondering if they’re related? Has anyone experienced vertigo as a symptom? I’m not dehydrated, I don’t have ear pain ...

Watching with interest. I have this too. It comes and goes.

Oh yes, I had this very bad during the peri phase, so much that I was referred to ENT who found nothing wrong.

It got better for me when the menopause hit properly. It was terrible before also tinnitus, balance problem, nausea and the dreadful constant lightheadedness.

My ENT consultant believes it is, though I don't know the evidence base behind it. Keep a record for a few months and see if it's cyclical.

The symptoms can be treated, speak to your GP.

Well, I have positional vertigo which started in my mid 40s and at times has been really bad, lasting for a few days at a time, and at times has come on for about 10 minutes and then vanished for weeks. Now I think about it I've not had any attacks (touch wood) for a while and I started HRT in the summer.
