So here I am at 04.24 up and wide awake it’s really getting me down , I woke at 02.30 and it doesn’t matter how much I try to switch off it doesn’t happen , I’m not on HRT but have discussed it with my GP, I’m having a mammogram tomorrow then she’s advised I call her. Does HRT help with sleep ?

@bumpsadaisy11 It cost me £200 for one session plus follow up calls/emails.

Highly recommend.

The person I saw was in the SW (Wells). wellsmenopauseclinic.co.uk

My sleep is terrible at the moment. I ever used to suffer from insomnia but now at 53 I am awake half the night. Am so tired.
Probably due to peri menopause?

JinglingHellsBells · 21/12/2020 14:09

@bumpsadaisy11

Does anyone know how much it costs to see a private menopause specialist? I am in the south west if that makes any difference.
@bumpsadaisy11 It depends where you are in the SW. Most drs are doing virtual appts now anyway.

I'd recommend here. www.thepoundburyclinic.co.uk/

First appts are around £300 but he is one of the top meno specialists in the UK.

Thank you so much for your information. It is definitely something that I will look into after Christmas.

Applejack87 · 24/12/2020 05:55

It’s exhausting Thankyou for all your replies
Has anyone tried eating protein before bed time ? It’s 6am here & I’ve been awake since 4 😴. The other thing is when I wake during the night I’m hungry I do eat plenty during the day I’m just wondering if protein would help with sleep

Another poor sleep suffered and on HRT.
I’ve started spraying my legs with magnesium oil mad have bought some magnesium glycinate. Time will tell if it works.

Just wanted to pop in and thank @GlasgowsGreen for the Twitter link. I've been using the anti-histamine trick and it's been a life changer! Several friends have also tried it with similar success. Flowers

Londontown12 · 03/02/2021 13:10

I do this !! I stumbled on it by accident I still do my routine but have one just before bed !! It’s deffo a game changer @SlaughteredChicken xx

SlaughteredChicken · 03/02/2021 18:06

I got 6 months supply on Amazon for less than a fiver so I'm sleeping well for a while! I have noticed that drinking wine cancels the anti histamine out though Blush

BlitzenandMikey · 03/02/2021 19:28

Which anti histimine do you all use?

SlaughteredChicken · 03/02/2021 22:08

I started with Piriteze and now I'm on allocan because it's more cost effective. As long as it has cetirizine hydrochloride as the active ingredient, you can use any.

dontdisturbmenow · 04/02/2021 07:33

I've been in Cetirizine every day for 20 years for a dust allergy. If only it helped with my sleep!

Londontown12 · 04/02/2021 10:53

I use Benadryl ones !

whatisforteamum · 09/02/2021 15:07

I used to wake up at 530 or 6 am which was fine except I worked 12 hr days getting home at 1030.
Hrt helped enormously.i get 7/8 hours sleep now it is heaven.
