My GP has just diagnosed this and like any curious person I have googled. I'm now completely depressed as it looks like there's no cure. I am unable to have sex and think that I will now have to remain celibate.
Any hopeful stories please.

How and why was this diagnosed?

I'm wondering if you mean atrophy of the vagina not your cervix.

Your cervix doesn't affect sex. It would be harder to insert a coil through the cervix if it had narrowed.

Vaginal atrophy is treatable with vaginal estrogen- cream or small pessaries. Did your GP not offer you this? It's standard treatment.
Read about it online.

Cervical stenosis (narrowing and stiffening of the cervical oz) is common with age. Won't affect sex.
Vsginal atrophy also common, can be treated with oestrogen gel, you don't have to accept a sexless life of you don't want to. So many of my patients assume this is just their lot but it doesn't have to be.

In the UK @LethargicLumpOfLockdownLard Treatment is either a cream (Oveston) or a small pessary (Vagifem.)

The only gel is Oestrogel which is part of systemic HRT (and not used in the vagina as it's alcohol based - ouch! :) )

Thank you so much, I'm an idiot who should be kept away from google. My GP didn't say much but we have a further consult for next Friday after I get some other rest results back. I should have asked her to elaborate at the time but she was concentrating on other things.
Thanks again, I'll stop panicking now.
