Perimenopasue? Left side breast pain?

Do any of you ladies in perimenopause tend to get breast pain most significantly in one breast with pms?

This is new but my left side feels so tender like a burning pain far greater than the right side....woke up with this, today and my period is about 3 days away. I feel lately that I am enormous hormonal upheaval and it is so distressing.

I have had in both when I was younger but now at 48 and in dealing with shifting hormones and I find it very unsettling.

Anyone else?

I do but then I always have, it's just slightly more apparent now I'm late forties. My right boob has always been the one that misbehaves. I've had it checked out in the past and all perfectly normal.

Hi OP, I'm having exactly this. My breasts would both get a little tender before my period but now it's mostly just the left side of my left breast. It's starting to do my head in... I'm 43 so maybe a little early for perimenopause? Though i know it can happen any time in theory. Hope you can deal with it x

I had this in my right breast and HRT sorted it immediately.

I'm 43 so maybe a little early for perimenopause?

Nope. Not too early at all.

This is very comforting to know! I wonder why one breast might be so much worse. This is the first month this has happened so it really did my head in. In addition to this month I have had crazy tingling in the hands and legs and the most irritability I have ever experienced - my poor family!

Not enjoying this....

I get breast pain in both breasts. It's probably totally normal but it's probably worth getting your GP to check it out.

Yes I used to get that when I was in peri-menopause. Left side of left breast for me too. Also tingling hands, I used to text my DH from work telling him about my tingling hands/arms, as it was pretty alarming when it happened, I'd forgotten that!

I'm about 18months on from my last period so technically in menopause, although I'm only 41, so you could definitely be in peri at 43.

I ended up going through emerg as the sore area was becoming red and hot. It turns out I have mastitis! At 48....
I had a regular mammogram just 6 weeks ago that came back normal.
Dr said it is a blocked duct.
I read about something called mammary duct ectasia that occurs mostly in women ages 45-55. I guess perimenopause cause ducts to shorten and widen and they can then get blocked and can lead to an infection (mastitis).
On a course of antibiotics for a week.
Who knew?
