So upset by a (male) condescending pharmacist who wanted to give me one month supply of progesterone only pill

The women's clinic sent over the prescription electronically. I had asked them to note that I sometimes double up if I get a period sneak through, so that it will go away and not get so heavy I end up flooding.

The last time I went to this pharmacist he put me through this ordeal of having to beg for more than one month's supply. So I should have gone to a different chemist. The same superior condescing pharnacist was there.
He no only told me i had a bad attitude but he told me i was passive aggressive. I could not have been communicating any more directly. I told him, humiliating though it was, why a months supply did not last me a month. He told me to go away and come back in 5 minutes, as though i were some angry drunk giving him abuse.
The injustice of it just makes me cry. A man my age roughly standing there telling women they have a bad attitude because they want to have reassurance they wont flood in public.
I was shaking i was so upset. I went back to the womens clinic and bought the progesterone from them. They confirmed that they had made a note that i was taking it for flooding. So he definitely knew thst.

Condescending superior rule-loving arsehole.

Men will never know what women go through and yet they get to stand there in a chemist and enjoy following the rules more than is healthy.

I havent complained about anybody in decades but i want to complain about that superior arsehole.

😭😭😭😭😭😭

So sorry you had to go through that - he sounds like a total knobhead. Do complain about him, it may prevent other women from having to deal with that disgraceful behaviour. It's not like you're complaining about just one incident (though it would be just as warranted if you were) - you've actually had to deal with him more than once.

It's not surprising you're so upset - he was a dickhead. Hope you're ok Flowers

Thank you nonsensicalHair. I listened to a meditation to calm down earlier! It didn't work all that well because while I was listening to it I was thinking about making a complaint. I found the email address to make a complaint about a pharmacist online.

I find this sort of thing so draining.

Yeah he’s a dick. I’m a hospital pharmacist and the reason I left community pharmacy was because of people like the one you encountered. Definitely complain. Usually the pharmacy can only supply the quantity requested on the prescription so maybe ask the clinic to prescribe a bigger quantity than you might need to avoid this hassle next time.

It IS draining, no doubt about it. If you complain, you may feel that at least you've taken decisive action. Hopefully in future you won't have to deal with the power hungry eejit. Are you able to visit a pharmacy where he won't be lying in wait to waft his bad attitude about?
