Hair coming out in half handfuls, skin paper thin, que pasa?

Hi I'm 52 and have been perimenopausal for around 18m. Still have periods but irregularly. My issue is mainly the cosmetic effects: my hair is falling out in half handfuls, my skin is thinning and dry and my lips have narrowed when formerly the bottom one was plump. My mood is okay and I'm not under stress (C19 has soared me a time consuming commute, I realise this is fortunate). It's really starting to get to me a bit as my means of compensating are slowing diminishing (the hair the lips the skin). Would welcome advice

See a menopause specialist doctor! There is a listing of them on the NAMS website.

Maybe start by seeing your own GP and having blood tests? It could be that you're deficient in something that is causing the hair loss. Maybe not, but it doesn't hurt to have a full check. Thyroid, iron, etc.

You have my sympathy as my hair is shedding too - it's very distressing.
