Evorel Conti to Evorel 50

How important is progesterone for women? I’ve just changed to Evorel 50 and my mood seems to have changed. My consultant suggested I moved to it because of my age (42). I’m on the oestrogen only patches at the minute but feel quite snappy. Anyone else have similar?

Are you still having periods Op?

I'm 43 and I have an oestrogen patch and take progesterone tablets for 2 weeks each cycle. My understanding is it is necessary to take progesterone to ensure the womb lining sheds, if it doesn't there's an increased risk of developing cancerous cells. If you have had a hysterectomy this is not an issue.

Hi I'm 52 and have been perimenopausal for around 18m. Still have periods but irregularly. My issue is mainly the cosmetic effects: my hair is falling out in half handfuls, my skin is thinning and dry and my lips have narrowed when formerly the bottom one was plump. My mood is okay and I'm not under stress (C19 has soared me a time consuming commute, I realise this is fortunate). It's really starting to get to me a bit as my means of compensating are slowing diminishing (the hair the lips the skin). Would welcome advice

It's essential that you take progesterone one some form of you still have a uterus.
Your options are tablets ( which in certain circumstances can be used vaginally , patches or a Mirena. The
Lowest dose would be via mirena.
