How long till periods stop

I know its not an exact science but I was wondering what other peoples experiences were with regards to how long it was between first noticing symptoms of perimenopause and periods stopping?
Also how many have gone through it 'au natural' and not on any HRT.

Peri started five years ago(hot flushes and night sweats) but I only realised what was happening last year, when symptoms got really bad. Although heavier and with flooding, periods are still going!, every month, I hope this will finally be the month, that I'll at least skip one, but every time I'm disappointed! It just seems symptoms go on and on, and there's no reason for them, and nothing is happening, I'm 42, so early, but I've had enough

I am 54 and still have regular periods. No real symptoms. A flush every so often. Had about 5 altogether now.
