Is this Perimenopause?

I’m on day 17 of my cycle and I’ve started bleeding again. Normally pretty regular every 28 days but have been getting increasingly painful and hellish.

I’m 43 and lately I’ve been feeling like utter shit to be quite frank. Headaches very frequently - last week I had one most days, upper back and neck aches, very low sex drive and increasing vaginal dryness over the past year, also some bladder frequency and recently had antibiotics for uti symptoms (I’m not prone to uti usually). My mood is very up and down (but attributed that to 2020 life).
No hot flushes, no night sweats.

Is this perimenopause? Should I see my gp or just get on with it?

Hi - I have experienced similar things over the last 2-3 years - I am 42. It started with shorter cycles, and currently I am on day 50 of what is normally a 23 day cycle. Having tracked my cycles for the last 3 years, mine now range from 17 days to (rarely) 28. I had blood tests done a year ago for thyroid function, which was fine, but they didn't check hormones then as my periods were regular (if a bit erratic in length). Have you checked your thyroid health lately?
I have a call with my GP on Friday to talk things through and see whether I should be doing anything at this stage. My concern is heart and bone health, and I am not taking any hormonal contraception right now. I have flushes, migraine, skin issues, sleeplessness, low sex drive...
Might be worth investing a few minutes in chatting to a Dr/Nurse at your surgery?
Good luck.
