HRT and blood pressure

Just looking for reassurance. I'm on my 5th week of Evorel patches. The first 2 weeks went ok but i'm feeling crap now I'm on the 2nd box. I have the insomnia and racing heart and anxiety back. Also my bp is high. It's worse at home than at work. I was sitting relaxing and it had gone from 152/84 at work to 168/99 at home. The only thing is I'd had a glass of wine. Also I get stressed from DH and DS. I'm much happier at work tbh!
So has anyone got any advice or similar experiences to share? I don't really want HRT and would be happy to come off it. I still have periods asked for a coil but they wouldn't fit it.
Thanks.

it's the wine. It will raise your BP. Don't take BP after a meal, hot drink, exercise or wine :)

Take your BP daily but at rest.

If it is consistently high (over 120/80) you might need something to treat it but HRT does not affect BP.

Sounds as if you might help yourself by tackling the causes of your stress- maybe mindfulness, yoga, daily exercise, 5+ fruit and veg a day - something to switch off and relax!

@JinglingHellsBells.. Ah as I suspected, it's the wine! It scared me to see 100 on the monitor. Also what didn't help was having a massive row with DH 20 mins earlier. He has no idea.
I thought HRT could raise bp. I have awful insomnia and other symptoms so maybe it isn't working.

Worst combo of all to take your BP!

HRT does not raise BP. The old sort rarely used may have but not the newest kind- the Pill has a far greater risk.

I think you are expecting too much too soon with your hrt. Drs say give it 12 weeks.

BUT HRT is not a cure-all- it sounds as if you have stuff going on in your life that is creating anxiety and stress. Can you deal with those?

Yep, and chuck in a 6 yr old and it's through the roof!! 🤣

I am trying to deal with stresses in my life but as well as all the above I've got an aged DF who calls me every day to moan at me about his latest ailments! The only thing I've got going for me is I'm only slightly overweight!!

I think maybe I need to give it at least 3 months as you say.

Thank you for your help, I truly need it!
