Hi all. I’d welcome advice.

I have no symptoms of the menopause at all apart from this thing at night where I get cold sweats, I have no memory of getting too hot but I seem to wake up shivering and I’m really sweaty and cold/clammy. I’ve no problem with taking hormones eventually, but at 50 I wonder if it’s a bit too early, based on family history.

Has anyone got any advice for me, is this the perimenopause and is there anything I can take to help me feel less sweaty at night

What's happening with your periods?

If your sleep is suffering there is no point waiting to sue HRT if that's what you want to try. What do you mean by your family history? The average age of menopause is 51 (that means periods over by then.) Many women are using HRT for years before then if they have symptoms so 50 isn't early to start it.

I had those sweats for years and had no idea they were a symptom of peri. Gradually other things started and HRT has sorted it all out. I'm 52.
